House committee advances debt-ceiling bill, sending it over to full House for vote

The House Rules Committee on Tuesday voted 7-6 in favor of advancing a crucial debt-ceiling bill, in a move that paves the way for action by the full House on Wednesday.

The bill is expected to go to a floor of the House on Wednesday for debate and a final vote. If approved, it will advance to the Senate.
